On a beautiful day I decided to go out and "plein air" paint the
Broadway Bridge in Columbia, Missouri, a small creek just flows
beneath the bridge is called the Hinkson Creek, a spectacular view
with all the beauty of fall colors. The word "plein air"
is french and means "in the open air". It is a term used
since the early 19th century.
Rocheport is a small rivertown of (208) in Boone County, Missouri,
and is called "Scenic Gateway" to the Katy Trail. It is great for
cyclists, hickers, walker and for artist to do "plein air" paintings,
and enjoy to paint the classic Mid-Missouri scenery. Very close
by, a winegarden high atop the bluffs offer an inspiring view of
the river valley and wonderful to put on canvas. The towering bluff's
and forested banks rekindle the area of the days of Lewis and Clark.
