Washday in Italy

Traveling through the countryside in Italy, you see women hanging clothes out to dry. In some way, they enjoyed the task of fresh smelling clothes; they don't know it any other way and dealt with laundry this way forever. At times I still hang clothes out to dry. They flutter in the wind. They're so active, and create wonderful shapes.
